    The Mirage is an enhanced version of the original Piper Malibu.  Production of the Mirage began in 1988, which included a more powerful engine and a new wing design for the PA-46.  Several variations of the Mirage exist, primarily with avionics upgrades including Avidyne and Garmin systems.  The FAA designation for the Mirage is PA-46-350P.
